The big bronze statue looking like floating in the air

Today I'll show you the strange scenery I've seen around an area with a lot of homes. The big bronze statue of Buddha seems to pop up from the roof of a private house. 

It looks as if the statue of Buddha appeared suddenly and were floating. What you see in front is the bell tower of this temple.

This is the Great Buddha bronze statue, named Nagahama Lake Biwa Great Buddha, located on the shores of Lake Biwa in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. This bronze Buddha was constructed in 1994. It stands 28m tall, with the bronze body weighing 88 tons. In fact, this Buddha statue was preceded by an 88-foot statue made by concrete which was erected in 1937. However, after 50 years it had deteriorated severely and was scraped in 1992.

The Great Buddha stands on top of the two-story Hall.  On the first floor, there is a Buddhist altar. In Buddhism, a Buddhist altar is used to worship Buddha and ancestors.

The principal object of worship (small Buddha statue) is enshrined in the center of the Buddhist altar.　（Sorry no photos of the Buddhist altar)

Just behind the Great Buddha is Lake Biwa, the largest lake of Japan.
