"Take-akari", traditional Japanese culture made from bamboo tubes

I visited the Keiunkan, a national scenic spot in Nagahama City, to appreciate "Take-akari". Take means a bamboo and akari is a lantern.

"Takeakari" is a lantern made from bamboo tubes cut into sections with various pictorial patterns carved on bamboo tubes using electric drills and files with tips less than 1 mm long.

They are exhibits representing landscapes, plants, animals, “dragons” and other anime characters.

The fantastic atmosphere created by the bamboo lanterns surrounds us.

I'll show some of the "Takeakari".
