The topics of a female fox and flowers around my house
Unusually for me, I woke up early yesterday. When I happened to look around the house from the upstairs, there was a brown dog that seemed to be ownerless.
However, when I looked at it carefully, I noticed that it had a thick-haired tail and a pointed face, so I thought it was a fox. I recognized this fox was a female one when I checked the video taken from behind. Probably she was eating insects or something hidden below the dry grass. I have known so far that it passed by at night while barking with its unique voice, but this is the first time I have seen it during the daytime. I think that it has been living around this area for at least 5 years.
She was digging under the dry grass for something to eat.
In Japan, foxes are animals that have a strong image of deceiving people. From this reason, the word "female fox" often means a cunning woman who deceives men. That word has been used since the Edo period as a derogatory term for such women. We hear this phrase in the TV dramas, such as modern dramas and samurai-themed historical dramas. But, we hardly use it in daily life. This is similar to the word "Vixen" in the case of English speaking countries.
Changing the subject, I'd like to show you some flowers blooming in my mini flower bed.
Marguerite Variety name is strawberry whip. This variety has a characteristics that the color of flowers will change with time after blooming from dark pink, light pink, and finally almost white.
