Various red wild fruits noticed in the forest
Today is a sunny day after a week of cloudy weather. So, I went for a walk along a small path in the low mountain existed near my hometown. I'll show you some various red wild fruits I found there.
It looks like a cherry tomato. It is a "Hiyodori-jyougo" (Solanum lyratum). "Hiyodori" is a Japanese popular wild bird. But this is poisonous, so I think even "Hiyodori" does not eat it.
It really looks like a cherry tomato. In fact, it is a Solanaceae Plants. The real tomato plant also belongs to the same family.
This is a "winter raspberry" (Rubus buergeri). It is growing everywhere in this forest. It's said to be edible. However we have to collect a huge amount in order to make strawberry jam.
This is a nut of "Shiro-damo" tree (Neolitsea sericea). This is also very commonly seen in this area. It might be poisonous, I guess.
This is a "mamusi-gusa" or Jack in the pulpit (Arisaema serratum). In fact it's poisonous. Please don't eat it under no circumstances.
Do you know what this looks like? It's just a guess, but I think probably it's an abnormal fruit of False strawberry, snake strawberry in Japanese. When this plant flowered, the temperature outside was too low. So flowers became sterile and couldn't produce seeds. That's my speculation on why it seems abnormal.
This is an extra thing, a small mushuroom that is often seen in this forest. It looks like "märchenhafte".
